Aquatic Pool & Spa is a local business that assists domestic and commercial clients with their swimming pool and spa needs. We install, maintain and repair pools and spas while offering water inspections, safety certificates and related products.


Here are answers to frequently asked questions about our services.

  • Question: Should I go with a Sand or Cartridge filter on my new pool?

    Answer: The choice you make depends on your priorities. If you are time poor or don’t have the time to constantly clean your cartridge then a sand filter with glass media is going to be the best solution as cartridge filters need to be cleaned every 2 weeks in summer and every 4 weeks in winter and takes about 20 minutes. Sand filters only take around 1 – 2 minutes just by moving a lever on the top of the filter.

  • Question: I Have a spa with a lockable cover do I need a pool fence?

    Answer: In short yes. Under the Pool Safety Act, the cover is not deemed as a suitable means of preventing a child from entering the spa as the covers could be left off. When you have a pool fence with a self-closing and latching gate it takes out the human element.


  • Question: How often should I have my pool or spa maintained by a professional?

    Answer: We recommend that you have a professional visit your swimming pool or spa every few months. We can check to see if any early stage issues are present, such as leaks, black spot or other damage to the pool or spa. Our maintenance services are affordable and they can be done weekly, 2 weekly or 4 weekly.


  • I don’t have a lot of outdoor space for a pool, what are my options?

    Answer: We have several Swim spas ranging from 4.4m up to 6m Long and 2.25m wide x 1.3m deep. Swim spas are becoming very popular because of their many features and are half the price of a pool in the ground.
